Following word that Alfred Molina will return as Doctor Octopus, new reports are now noting that Marvel Studios has struck deals with both Andrew Garfield and Kirsten Dunst for Spider-Man 3.

The reported casting notes that it is unclear if Garfield will be suiting up again but it is expected that Dunst will return to play Mary Jane Watson. With the recent news, there is now speculation that Tobey Maguire is close to joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe production and we could start hearing about Emma Stone potentially returning as Gwen Stacy.

Spider-Man 3 is expected to introduce the concept of a “Spider-Verse” with Doctor Strange becoming the new mentor for Tom Holland‘s Spider-Man filling the void left by Iron Man and Nick Fury.

The currently untitled sequel to Spider-Man: Far From Home directed by Jon Watts is set to arrive December 17, 2021.
