Anderson .Paak and Vans Announce Duo Of Family-First Takes on the Old Skool
Inspired by .Paak’s sons Soul and Shine, and accompanied by matching apparel and accessories.

Anderson .Paak and Vans are back with two new takes on the Old Skool and a fresh offering of apparel/accessories. Inspired by .Paak’s two young sons Soul and Shine, both shoes are colorful, whimsical and boast a bright-eyed energy, making for an apt follow-up to the LA-based musician’s debut Vans capsule from October.
First is the “Ziti,” which uses a bold palette of blue, purple, green and yellow suede across its upper. Jazz Stripes, midsoles, laces and eyestays are done up in white for contrast and the design’s kid-sized iteration adds a little extra flair with a dripping pink print atop its foxing. Next arrives the “Soulito,” which discards the multi-colored stylings of its counterpart for a full light purple corduroy upper. Just because it’s monochromatic doesn’t mean it’s devoid of detail, however: toeboxes and tongues feature an ultra-thick wale to ramp up the textured detailing while quarters and heels provide a finer wale for contrast. Much like its counterpart, the “Soulito” is rounded off by white Jazz Stripes, laces and midsoles. Both pairs are completed with a “Yes Lawd” hit on the inner heel, continuing the ethos established on the aforementioned first collection.
Apparel consists of a durable chore coat with reversible detailing: one side boasts a purple plaid pattern while the other presents solid purple canvas. Bucket hats are available in purple plaid or shaggy green terry cloth, and a purple corduroy backpack rounds off the offerings.
The latest Anderson .Paak x Vans collection will release via the Vans webstore come December 11. Both shoes will be available in men’s, kids and toddler sizing. Retail prices have yet to be announced.
