Netflix has renewed The Umbrella Academy for its third season, a superhero show based on the comics of the same name written by Gerard Way.

Universal Content Productions is handling the renewal for the series, led by showrunner Steve Blackman. 10 new episodes will be offered in the new season, and filming for the show will begin in February, in Toronto, Canada. Cast members Robert Sheehan, Ellen Page, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Justin H. Min, Aidan Gallagher, Ritu Arya, and Colm Feore, from Season Two will all be returning to the series as well. According to Netflix, the show scored big ratings in its first season, drawing in roughly 45 million subscribers for at least 70 percent of an episode. Season Two, on the other hand, helped double the Nielsen streaming ratings in its debut week.

In case you missed it, Netflix has begun testing a pseudo-live TV channel in France.
