Liz Beecroft and UNKNWN Connect Sports and Mental Health with "The Sport of Self-Care" Collection
Hoodies, shorts, tees and a special basketball with bright colors and positive messages.

Social worker, psychotherapist, mental health advocate, Nike collaborator and Sole Mates/Business of Hype alum Liz Beecroft has teamed with UNKNWN for a “The Sport of Self-Care” apparel collection. Featuring hoodies, tees and an exclusive basketball, the Christian Gonzalez-designed collection connects sports and mental health to show the mental fortitude and aptitude required to succeed in athletics — as studies have shown that up to 35% of elite athletes suffer from mental health crises.
One hoodie, one pair of sweatshorts and two tees feature bright graphics and prints that state “The Sport of Self-Care” “Commit to Yourself,” “The Fight To Get There” and more. The hoodie is made of 150 oz 100% brushed cotton, the shorts of 19 oz 100% french terry and the tees of 10.5 oz 100% cotton jersey. There’s even an exclusive basketball that’s limited to 10 pieces, features an all-over brain print in pink, red and blue and is perfect for indoor play or collectable display.
“Sport — specifically basketball — has always been an outlet to release any heavy emotions I was feeling,” said Beecroft. “It was a way for me to get it all out and leave it on the court. This collection represents the ways sport can positively impact one’s mental health, but also this collection highlights the preparation and the journey it takes to get your mind in a good place before the big game, whatever that game is for you. I wanted to give a nod to those who recognize the importance of the mental hustle and starting from within.”
The Liz Beecroft x UNKNWN “The Sport of Self-Care” collection is available on the UNKNWN webstore now, with prices ranging from $50-$85 USD. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the non-profit Jed Foundation, which protects emotional health and prevents suicide for teens and young adults
