Chinese Dancer Lay Zhang's Second Converse Collaboration Is Woven With a Bandana
Gentle blue on white floral patterns.
Last October, Chinese celebrity Yixing “Lay” Zhang — beloved internationally for his expansive entertainment career — introduced his first Converse collaboration. This year, Lay is reuniting with the footwear imprint for another special sneaker, utilizing his geometric insignia as the basis for another elegant Chuck 70.
Dressed in white, the premium Chuck Taylor features an icy sole unit that showcases a flower motif to match the print on the shoe’s tongue and rear. This floral pattern also graces the sneaker’s key feature: a silky bandana wrapped around the upper that’s also emblazoned with Lay’s logo. Of course, it can be removed and worn as headgear or an accessory, reflecting the style Lay often displayed during his stint as a member of K-Pop group EXO. Otherwise, the shoe remains understated, with tonal laces and eyelets.
Lay’s latest Converse collaboration has yet to receive a specific release date but they’re likely to remain a regional offering — the last pair was offered only by Converse Taiwan and a handful of local outposts.
For now, prepare for the holiday season with the Chuck 70 “Holiday Sweater” pack.
