For Fall/Winter 2020, London-based label Last Pick pays homage to the forests, woodlands and national parks found in the United Kingdom and simultaneously aims to normalize black individuals’ visibility within them, with “The Great Outdoors” collection.

As the leaves begin their cycle from summery greens, both the color palette and the designs in this seasonal offering have been inspired by warm hues of autumn. Shades of brown and green make up the majority of the collection, while flashes of orange, off-white and yellow add finishing touches.

Having grown up in one of the most populous and diverse cities in the world, London, Last Pick came to appreciate the necessity of incorporating nature into their lifestyles and how spending time outside of the city can have an incredibly positive impact on the mind, body and soul.

One of the biggest obstacles the brand found to embracing this time in the countryside was that not many people they encountered, if any, looked like them. There has historically been a lack of representation in outdoor activities such as hiking and orienteering, and as result, has added further barriers to entry for minority communities.

The visuals for the campaign highlight the sheer awe and beauty of one of the UK’s great national parks, the Lake District. Looking to showcase the holistic benefits that come with exploring these landscapes, Last Pick aims to simultaneously normalize black individuals’ visibility within them.

“The Great Outdoors” collection drops at 7PM GMT on November 26 and will be available via the Last Pick webstore.
