Sony's Iconic VX1000 Camcorder Inspires EASYdoesit x KangaROOS Ultimate Made in Germany

Berlin-based creative production company EASYdoesit is known for its love of audiovisual and now it finds itself collaborating with KangaROOS on its Ultimate Made in Germany sneaker.

Taking inspiration from its favored DV Tape camcorder, the Sony VX1000 that launched in 1995, this pair not only adopts the videocamera’s name but also puts forth a colorway and design influenced by the iconic piece of tech. The VX1000 has a legendary status in the video scene, having made a name for itself with skateboarding videos thanks to its compact but robust structure and fisheye lens.

The EASYdoesit x KangaROOS Ultimate Made in Germany “VX1000” comes in an apt colorway of “Jet Black/Steel Gray,” with its mint coloring being used all around on elements such as the outsole and heel branding to reference the camera parts. There’s a number of unique elements on the shoe — for example, the rear-quarter sports a stamp reading “361CCD Digital Zoom 20 X” as another nod to the VX1000, while 3M has been added all around to reference a camera’s flash.
