Drake Connects With Yung Bleu for New "You're Mines Still" Remix
From his new ‘Love Scars: The 5 Stages of Emotions (Deluxe)’ project.
26-year-old Mobile, Alabama rapper Yung Bleu dropped off his latest project, Love Scars: The 5 Stages of Emotions (Deluxe) with a major surprise: his remix to his track “You’re Mines Still” enlisted Drake for a new feature. The story of how the collaboration happened stems from a FaceTime call from the world renowned artist at 1:00 AM after Drake decided to follow his Instagram account back on October 9. The follow in and of itself was reason enough to celebrate, so much so that Bleu posted the screenshot on his social media accounts.
“[DeMarcus Cousins] reached out to me saying that he was loving the EP and he was saying, ‘Man, I can hear Drake on this one. I can see Drake on this one. I love this one,’” Yung Bleu told Complex in a recent interview. “Three days later though, Cousins had sent me a screenshot of Drake saying, ‘Send the record.’ So I had sent them the record and after a little while, I thought that he probably didn’t like it or hear it for real, so I just forgot about it. Then he wrote me on Instagram with the message that I posted and said ‘Let’s do the remake.’ I said, ‘Hell yeah.’ And I just sent his team the song.”
Earlier this year, Yung Bleu dropped Bleu Vandross 3 featuring Boosie Badazz, Yo Gotti, Flo Milli, NoCap and more. Last year’s Investments 6 tapped PnB Rock, Dej Loaf and Lil Tjay. Stream Love Scars: The 5 Stages of Emotions (Deluxe) below.
In more music updates, Drake’s longtime collaborative partner, producer Noah “40” Shebib, joined Kevin Durant’s podcast to talk about their creative process together, when to expect Certified Lover Boy and more.
