Analogue Announce New TurboGrafx and PC Engine Console
The Analogue Duo will be available sometime next year.
Following the sales of its Pocket device, Analogue has announced another high-end take on a retro console, his time focused on NEC systems like the TurboGrafx-16 and PC Engine. The new Analogue Duo will serve as a 1080p HD equivalent of the two consoles by forgoing the use of software emulation to function and instead utilizing a field-programmable gate array (FPGA) chip, which is able to recreate the original consoles’ hardware in digital form.
According to the retro gaming company, the Duo is compatible with TurboGrafx-16, PC Engine, SuperGrafx, TurboGrafx CD, PC Engine CD-ROM, and Super Arcade CD-Rom games. The system features a cartridge slot and a disk drive, which allows it to play classic NEC games in either format. It also sports controller ports for the original controllers and accessories of the the consoles, but it also supports Bluetooth and USB controllers.
The Analogue Duo will be available in limited quantities next year for $200 USD.
