Analogue Pocket Pre-Orders Sell Out in Eight Minutes
The company reassures that more will be coming.

Late last year, retro gaming company Analogue unveiled its new Pocket handheld device to massive popularity, which just opened up for pre-orders this week. Unfortunately to the dismay of many looking forward to getting hold of one — including The Lord of the Rings‘ Elijah Wood himself — it sold out in a mere eight minutes after going live.
As Kotaku writer Ian Walker recounts himself, the pre-orders went live on Analogue’s site at 8 a.m. PST, and almost everyone woke up early to try their luck. Despite both Walker and Wood being able to add them to their shopping carts, the website crashed during checkout due to the incredibly high traffic, and both of them ended up having to try the whole pre-ordering process again, just to be met with a sold-out message from the company eight minutes later. Analogue has since then reassured fans that more will be produced to meet the unforeseen demand: “Pocket pre-orders are sold out,” the company says. “We will be producing more and do our best to meet demand during this unfortunate global state of affairs.”
If you’re still trying to get hold of an Analogue Pocket yourself, you can sign up to the company’s mailing list to be notified once they’re available again over at the company’s website.
