Trend-dodging Parisian boutique The Broken Arm has been collaborating with Salomon years before the French sportswear brand became “in.” Appropriately, the retailer always revamped style-averse sneakers in unassuming, borderline conventional colorways — its newest bespoke model, an exclusive XA-Alpine Mid, upholds this motif with a muted forest green update.

Part of Salomon’s Fall/Winter 2020 range, the sleek XA-Alpine Mid features the adventure label’s signature Quicklace system for easy on-off and Ortholite insoles for all-day comfort. Grippy outsoles heighten traction while a weather-resistant upper will prove invaluable during winter’s worst, guaranteeing extra protection via the mid-cut shaft opening that hugs the wearer’s ankles. Of course, its understated dark green, black and grey-tinged upper is quietly stylish, hinting that there’s something else going on with these unassuming kicks but only the clued-in will have the full context.

Shop the special Salomon sneakers on The Broken Arm’s web store for the very exact price of $240.17 USD apiece.

Salomon, of course, is a key part of the growing mainstream wave of stylishly technical sneakers.
