Nike Running Gets Winter-Ready With GORE-TEX and Rugged Outsoles

Nike has returned to its popular Pegasus running line for a string of winter-ready amendments, preparing the Pegasus Trail 2 and Pegasus 37 Shield as well as the React Miler Shield for the colder months.

Arguably the stand-out style in the pack is the Pegasus Trail 2, which has been wrapped in GORE-TEX to withstand changing weather conditions. Additionally, Nike has added extra traction on the heel to help hill runners, while React foam provides more cushioning.

The other two silhouettes in the pack — the Pegasus 37 Shield and React Miler Shield — are both inspired by winter car tires. This reference is featured on the sneakers’ outsole pattern, which has been specifically designed for wet road surfaces. Details of this include micro-siping for better grip and multidirectional shapes for better pavement contact. Both silhouettes also come with a weatherized shroud upper to repel water.
