Penny Hardaway‘s Nike Penny V has been revived in an Orlando Magic-esque “Game Royal” colorway. Hardway’s signature Nike line stands as one of the most influential and impactful assemblages in Nike Basketball history, making the “Game Royal” a fitting launch.

Uppers offer a lightweight and flexible layered mesh build, overlaid with synthetic seams to ensure support. This base is dressed in white, but branding is artfully applied with black-rimmed blue Swooshes towards the lateral collar, plain blue Swooshes on the medial midfoot and Penny’s One Cent logo on heels and tongues.

These tongues also lock in the shoe’s ’90s Magic inspiration with black pinstripes, a detail that’s replicated on the Achilles-protecting heel cushion. Heel tabs read “Part II Heaven Cent” on the left shoe and “The Storm Is Over” on the right shoe. Insoles nod to the state of Tennessee — where Penny coaches the University of Memphis (his alma mater’s) basketball team — and spelling out a familiar “Ballin’ Is What I Was Born to Do” hit. Blue and white midsoles with black Air Max heel cushioning units sit above icy blue outsoles to finalize the look.

The Nike Air Penny V “Game Royal” is available now via the Nike webstore. The MSRP is set at $160 USD.
