Bruce Willis Reprises John McClane Role for Thrilling Die Hard Car Battery Commercial
“Yippee-ki-yay, Motherf*cker!”
Fans of Die Hard were treated with a new installment of the movie franchise… well, almost. Die Hard batteries cleverly enlisted Bruce Willis to reprise his role as John McClane in an action-packed car battery commercial.
The throwback sequence even recruits original limo driver Argyle (De’voreaux White) and Hans Gruber’s computer hacker Theo (Clarence Gilyard). The commercial is just as funny as it is exciting as the now 65-year-old Willis is seen arduously recreating iconic parts of the original movie like the car chase and ventilation duct scenes, all padded with a plethora of explosions and gunfire. In the end, Willis is able to start his classic car with a Die Hard battery that’s been shot in half — further emphasizing the brand’s reliability.
As one last Easter egg, Argyle yells Willis’ celebratory catchphrase “Yippee-ki-yay, Motherf*cker,” cutting off just before the “Motherf*cker” can be heard. Watch the nostalgic commercial above.
