MF DOOM Rides Over Wilma Archer's Menacing Beat on "Last Sniff"
Taken from Archer’s forthcoming album, ‘A Western Circular.’
MF DOOM has linked up with English producer and multi-instrumentalist Wilma Archer for “Last Sniff,” taken from Archer’s forthcoming album A Western Circular. Clocking in at approximately three-and-a-half minutes, the strings-heavy single is accompanied by a music video from Jesse Collet that blends live-action and animation into one moody visual.
On top of a collaboration with MF DOOM, Archer is also linking up with Samuel T. Herring of Future Islands, Sudan Archives and Laura Groves for vocal contributions to A Western Circular. Billed as a “bold, reflective piece that directly relates to Archer’s personal experiences of life and death, centered on one particular week where they breathed with equal intensity,” the LP focuses on themes of greed, love and loyalty. Archer draws inspiration from author John Fante and reflects on the duality of the human condition, all the while uncovering new and supple layers of his singular sound.
