Universal Pictures has released a teaser for Fast & Furious 9 ahead of its official trailer debut this Friday. Although the film’s synopsis has been kept under wraps, the footage above sheds a bit of light on the film and its more dramatic direction.

Vin Diesel’s Dominic Toretto can be seen as more of a family man than usual, taking care of his son Brian from the previous Fate of the Furious film with Michelle Rodriguez‘s Letty. The movie will see the return of Justin Lin, who previously directed Tokyo Drift, The Fast & the Furious, Fast Five, and Fast & Furious 6. However, mainstay screenwriter Chris Morgan, who’s written every Fast movie since Tokyo Drift, will not write this film, further alluding to the changes potentially coming to the franchise.

Fast and Furious 9 arrives in theaters on May 22, 2020.

Check out the teaser above, then check out the new Rick and Morty Pringles commercial ahead of its Super Bowl debut.
