Vans Experiments With Colorful Animal Print On Two Classic Silhouettes
Playing with patchwork stylings on the Epoch Sport and Era.

Vans has displayed a propensity for re-crafting its classic lifestyle silhouettes with bold new materials, and the latest results of those experimentations are vivid iterations of the Epoch Sport and Era. Using a veritable plethora of animal prints and neon tones, each silhouette presents a truly wild style that demands attention, and is an apt follow-up to December’s “Mismatch Era Pack.”
Resplendent in tones both colorful and simple, each shoe combines traditional leopard prints with neon leopard and snakeskin graphics. This combination of mismatched hues somehow works seamlessly, giving off a pop art-inspired look that’s simultaneously repetitive and varied — an achievement that would make even Andy Warhol proud. Texture is explored as well, with select pieces on each upper proffering delicate raw edges for a layered look. Both designs are undeniably boisterous, but each is brought back down to earth by a simple white midsole with a black stripe and a classic Vans vulcanized gum outsole.
Both the Epoch Sport and Era are available now at Vans retailers like Oneness, with the former priced at $70 USD and the latter sliding in at $65 USD.
If subtle and stately strikes your fancy more than wild and crazy, you’ll likely enjoy this clean tonal take on the New Balance 992.
