'Apex Legends Season 4: Assimilation' Reveals New Character and Canyon Map Return
‘Apex Legends Season 4’ arrives on February 4.
Respawn Entertainment celebrated its upcoming first anniversary of Apex Legends with announcement details for the title’s upcoming fourth season. During a livestream, the dev team showed the new changes coming to the title, including the introduction of a new weapon and a new Legend.
Forge is a new up-close-and-personal brawler that used to be an MMA champion before becoming Hammond Robotics’ (a fictional company from Titanfall) first-in-gamed sponsored Legend. It would appear his abilities will entail getting close to enemies rather than solely utilizing a gun. It appears Hammond Robotics also has something to do with the new changes coming to World’s Edge, previously introduced in season 3. A new sniper rifle named Sentinel will also be introduced, a more powerful but slower bolt-action rifle. The sniper will also have a charged firing feature that will allow players to perform riskier higher damage shots.
Ranked Mode will also be divided into two periods, with the first beginning with the new season. The first season puts ranked players in World’s Edge and the second re-introduces players to the Kings Canyon map. At the end of the season, the ranked rewards that players receive will be based on the highest rank earned across the two splits.
Lastly, due to the game’s anniversary, players can expect a paper crane gun charm, a new badge that changes appearance based on when players began playing Apex Legends, and a limited time XP boost.
