Returning for Fall/Winter 2020, South Korean label KANGHYUK has unveiled its upcoming seasonal collection dominated by an exploration of the balance between material and silhouette.
Dubbed “COLLECTION 8,” this time KANGHYUK has incorporated a range of alternative textiles, washes, distressing techniques, stitching patterns and graphic prints into its signature usage of industrial polyamide and nylon car airbags. Serving as the most expansive collection from the label, the collection is led by varying outerwear options marked by convertible detailing, contrast reinforced stitching, ventilation ports, padding and industrial label graphics. Bottoms also make a strong showing with a series of cuts, including exaggerated bootcut displays and more tapered fits. Stitching styles on the pants express workwear codes, while crinkled distressing references the intended usage of the airbags utilized throughout the collection.
Rounding up “COLLECTION 8” is a racing helmet balaclava accessory and KANGHYUK’s latest collaboration with Reebok. The model features an evocative display of industrial polyamide and nylon car airbags, intricately decorated with exposed red stitching patterns all over. The SRS ZIG is elevated by Reebok’s new Kinetica three-fold sole system. Expressed in pure white, a Zig Energy Shell encases the midsole, while Zig Energy Bands on the outsole works with the Floatride Fuel foam for a cushioned and propelled ride.
