Parisian artists Jean Jullien and Yué Wu have linked up for an exhibition titled “Face to Face” at Point Éphémère. After a year of joint residency in the Parisian artistic center, the two artists have produced a series of black-and-white portraits depicting cultural icons and popular TV show and movie characters.
From Han Solo and Chewbacca to Keith Haring, Grace Jones and Serge Gainsbourg, the portraits are displayed “face to face” throughout the exhibition. Depicted in blank ink on a white background, the simple yet recognizable images showcase both artists’ distinct styles, while bringing them into harmony with each other. A small book, titled “Face à Face,” and a printed T-shirt also feature Jean Jullien and Yué Wu’s work.
