Despite not having the motivation and confidence to create new music, Andrè 3000 is focusing his creative juices somewhere else — acting. The OutKast member is joining Sally Field, Eve Lindley, Richard E. Grant and creator Jason Segel in his upcoming mystery/drama television series Dispatches from Elsewhere, premiering March 1 on AMC:
“The ten-hour series is centered around four ordinary people who feel there’s something missing in their lives, but they can’t quite put their finger on what it is. This diverse foursome is brought together by chance – or perhaps it’s by design – when they stumble onto a puzzle hiding just behind the veil of everyday life. As they begin to accept the mysterious ‘Dispatches from Elsewhere’ challenges, they come to find that the mystery winds deeper than they imagined, and their eyes are opened to a world of possibility and magic.”
Mr. Three Stacks, credited as his real name André Benjamin, will portray Fredwyne, one of the four “ordinary people” who attempt to fill the void of their lives with the game. Field joins Benjamin as a woman named Janice, Lindley as another woman named Symone and Segel as Peter. Grant will play Octavio, a man who looks to be the head of the Jejune Institute that leads the group through the puzzle.
