Super Bowl LIV between the Kansas City Chiefs and San Fransisco 49ers will kick off in Miami this weekend, so adidas is paying homage to contest and city alike with a new 4D Run 1.0 LTD “Big Game.” The data-driven design features powerful performance features, sustainable tech and plenty of hidden detailing, making for a shoe that’s greater than the sum of its already-potent parts.

Uppers are constructed from a crisp white plastic-based mesh. This is provided by Parley for the Oceans, who culled it from beaches and costal communities — a sustainable design point that hits home for Miami natives. Reinforcement is provided by clear heel and toebox overlays, with barely visible Three Stripe graphics appearing on the midfoot. A piece of cool blue plastic swings around the heel and an orange adidas logo appears on the tongue, combining to provide a nod to the hometown Miami Dolphins. The cool blue insole features an ingredients list for the “Three Stripe Life” with crucial components like “sauce,” “drip” and “slime,” all while throwing in a “100” emoji for good measure. “Big Game” is printed on the lace tips to complete the top half.

A familiar 3D-printed Futurecraft midsole is present as well, dressed in a signature “Aero Green” hue and printed using adidas’s advanced “Digital Light Synthesis” process. Using a latticed structure for comfort and support, it’s simultaneously environmentally conscious and performance-geared. A semi-translucent Continental rubber outsole completes the stylings.

The adidas 4D Run 1.0 LTD “Big Game” is available now via the adidas webstore, and retails for $220 USD, a price point that’s significantly lower than past Futurecraft releases.
