New 'El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie' Trailer Confirms Return of Another 'Breaking Bad' Character
Go for Joe.
A new TV spot for Netflix’s El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie has officially confirmed the return of another Breaking Bad character.
The 30-second trailer features Rocker Salvage owner Old Joe answering a call from Jesse Pinkman, who is currently on the run from his last deadly encounter with Walter White. As the fugitive’s name and face flash on Joe’s TV screen, it’s hinted that the junkyard owner will once again do a favor for Pinkman — most likely destroying the titular El Camino to help cut ties between the meth cook and the compound from Breaking Bad’s series finale.
Old Joe, portrayed by Larry Hankin, has been Walter White/Heisenberg and Pinkman’s lone savior on numerous occasions. During his first appearance in Breaking Bad Season 3 Episode 6, the elderly junkyard owner aided in destroying White and Pinkman’s RV/meth lab after Hank Schrader’s meth case, a DEA agent and White’s brother-in-law, lead him to investigate the younger cook. A conversation between Joe and Schrader exhibited the senior’s extensive legal knowledge, even delaying the agent’s search by making him get a warrant. He appears again in Season 5 to lend White, Pinkman and Mike Ehrmantraut a giant magnet used to destroy Gus Fring’s laptop, built equipment for the cooks’ new portable lab and performed an “RV job” to destroy Ehrmantraut’s car when Heisenberg killed him off.
