MTN DEW has released a new short film entitled MODERN LINES, which takes viewers behind the scenes of an innovative new skate course curated by pro skater Curren Caples and designed by CA Ramp Works. The documentary, guided by legendary skate filmmakers director Mike McEntire and director of photography Ty Evans, details the process of creating the park, from ideation to the final touches.

Housed inside a 74,000 square foot industrial building in Southern California, the course features a futuristic neon green design and a layout that merges street and park skating. “Most parks cater to either street or park, or they separate them out,” says skater Sean Malto. “That’s what was so unique about Modern Lines — it blends both aspects of skating into one continued course.”

To christen the new space, Caples and Malto invited other MTN DEW team riders, including Theotis Beasley, Mariah Duran and Chris Colbourn, as well as fellow skaters Mason Silva, Jake Anderson and Jenn Soto to take turns shredding. The private session plays out in the film, showing off the breadth of talent and style that Modern Lines caters to. “I thought it was cool to have everyone take the same line and see what they could do with it. It put everyone on the same playing field,” says Malto. “Even though I had high expectations, Curren Caples still blew my mind.”

Check out the official MODERN LINES 22-minute short film above, which recently aired on ABC’s World of X Games national TV series and is now available globally on the MTN DEW YouTube channel.
