MoMA Celebrates Expansion With Colorblocked Vans Era Collaboration

After closing for renovation over the summer, New York’s Museum of Modern Art has celebrated its expansion with a string of exclusive MoMA Design Store collaborations.

Undoubtedly the stand-out is the colorblocked Vans Era release, which is constructed from a mix of canvas and suede panels. The brightly-colored, multi-panel construction also features embroidered Vans and MoMA logos across the upper and marks the start of an ongoing collaboration between the two brands, with new footwear, apparel and accessories coming next year.

Other key collaborations to mark the relaunch include collections with both PLEATS PLEASE ISSEY MIYAKE and BAO BAO ISSEY MIYAKE. Each product is printed with a special-edition MoMA logo that is influenced by Katakana, a Japanese syllabic alphabet. Additionally, MoMA has partnered with UNIQLO UT for graphic T-shirts celebrating the museum’s commitment to collecting and exhibiting Latin American art.
