Chinese shoe manufacturer Li-Ning has just released images of its latest basketball shoe offering, the Speed VI Premium, in blue and white colorways. Portland Trail Blazers guard C.J. McCollum will be wearing them on court this upcoming NBA season after signing with the footwear brand in 2017.
The Speed VI Premium features a single piece, fully-knit upper and a midsole made using Li-Ning’s signature Cloud and LightFoam technologies. In true Li-Ning fashion, unexpected details make the Speed VI Premium stand out amongst other basketball shoes, including a logo that rests at the toebox instead of the lateral side of the shoe. An extra lace encased in plastic tubing runs from above the arch all the way around the heel – a playful touch that connects the knit upper with the shoe’s lacing system. A branded patch that reads, “speed is our constant pursuit / Li-Ning Basketball / Speed VI Premium” wraps around the heel, while the tongue simply states the name of the shoe. The blue version of the sneaker boasts contrasting red details throughout, ranging from the midsole to the red and blue striped patch and pull tab at the heel. On the other end of the spectrum, the white colorway keeps things simple with a few black details and a speckled patch on the midsole.
An inline Speed VI is set to release soon, but the Speed VI Premium, which features higher quality materials, will be available through Li-Ning’s online store beginning September 18. In the meantime, view images of the premium version above.
