Japanese Label Iroquois Puts Comfort First for SS20
Rich with baggy pants and draping layers.
Iroquois has toyed with provocative menswear styling for several seasons, showing no sign of slowing down for Spring/Summer 2020. The Japanese label serves up elegant styles rich with baggy blazers and pooling trousers accented with a host of playful shirts and tees.
Plentiful wide trousers set the tone for the collection, anchoring the heavily-patterned shirting and relaxed tailoring that adds a hint of formality to the louche looks. Billowing trench coats and knitwear dramatically alter the already-baggy silhouettes, with layered denim jackets allowing the wearer to channel a washed-out Canadian tuxedo thanks for the raw-hemmed and flared jeans. Neutral beige and black shades keep the flame-emblazoned cardigans and multi-toned pullovers from veering into unwearable territory, though berets and matching ties are available for the sartorially bold.
The new collection will hit Iroquois’ Japanese web store early next year.
Elsewhere in Japan, WACKO MARIA premiered its pattern-drenched Fall/Winter 2019 lookbook.
