Brain Dead & Stepney Workers Club Channel Aldous Huxley With FW19 Collaboration
A bouclé wool take on the Dellow silhouette.
Fresh from delivering its Fall/Winter 2019 collection, London-based footwear label Stepney Workers Club has debuted a collaboration with Brain Dead. The joint release sees the L.A. brand rework the Dellow silhouette, constructing it from a black textured wool bouclé upper and a contrasting oversized cream sole unit.
One of the stand-out features of the collaborative shoe is the asymmetric tongue labels, with one shoe bearing Brain Dead’s logo while the other features a quote from Aldous Huxley’s book The Doors of Perception. Elsewhere, the shoe has a subtle hiking influence referenced in the two-tone eyelets and laces, as well as co-branding on the footbed and heel patches.
To launch the collaboration, Brain Dead and Stepney Workers Club have worked with artist Clay Arlington on a sculptural and video installation. This project will be on display at East London retailer Goodhood from September 24 until October 3.
The sneaker is set to release on September 24 via the Stepney Workers Club web store and select stockists.
