Delicate Textiles Inform COMME des GARÇONS HOMME PLUS FW19's Black Coats
Boiled wool, faux fur and hits of gold.
After releasing its leopard lace-up creepers with George Cox, COMME des GARÇONS HOMME PLUS has returned with a series of sleek black long coats, each constructed with delicate textiles that elevate the minimal look. HOMME PLUS’ seasonal motif — moody shades of black elevated by gothic accents — manifests in the array of elevated outerwear.
First up is the Black Wool Finger Hole Coat, made up of boiled lamé-blend wool. Frayed at the tips, the sleeves are molded with a glove-like fit with fingerholes at the end of the tips. The jacket comes with two tonal buttons, complemented with welt pockets at the front and inside.
The Black Gold Stitching Coat has a softer finish. Boasting textured faux-fur all around, the coat is decked with three-quarter-length sleeves, gold-tone top-stitching and a peaked lapel collar. Other details like twin vents at the back, flap pockets at the hem and an inner satin lining top off the design.
Lastly, the Black Twill Double-Breasted Coat sees a subtle sheen with wide lapels, darts, duo flap pockets and surgeon’s cuffs. As subtle accents to the dark silhouette, six of the front buttons come in a deep chestnut palette, while an extended single vent at the back gives the piece an interesting depth. All three coats are built with an elongated cut that ends below the knees.
The COMME des GARÇONS HOMME PLUS coats are currently available at SSENSE.COM, ranging from $1,125 – $2,800 USD.
