Capcom Shares Teaser Trailer for Upcoming 'Resident Evil' Co-Op 'Project Resistance' (UPDATE)

UPDATE: A teaser for Capcom‘s Project Resistance has surfaced, showcasing cinematics for this “brand-new team-based survival horror experience.” Many assume it will be a four-player co-op where players use various Resident Evil weapons to take down a robot that looks suspiciously familiar to Nemesis and Mr. X from previous installments of the franchise.

Project Resistance will be released on PlayStation 4, Windows PC, and Xbox One, with more information slated to come out of Tokyo Game Show on September 12-15.

Original Story Aug 30, 2019: Capcom is expanding its Resident Evil franchise with a new game that’s set to release in the near future. The company has put out a teaser website that reveals a couple details of its upcoming Project Resistance.

It still isn’t exactly clear whether the game will work “Resident Evil” somewhere into its official title, but fans have noticed that the letters “RE” in “Resistance Project” in the teaser banner are colored in red, while the rest are kept white. Though a leaked teaser trailer for the game appears to have since been taken down, a few fans have managed to take some screengrabs that introduce new characters, which might indicate a kind of spin-off. Some have also noted that the particular positioning of the characters in the clips hints on a new potential co-op mode. Those attending the upcoming 2019 Tokyo Game Show will get a chance to see some of Resistance Project‘s gameplay, and among them, a lucky few will actually be able to play the game.

The official teaser trailer for Resistance Project is set to premier online on September 9 at 10 am EST. Stay tuned for more information about the upcoming game.
