Bon Iver’s Drops 'i, i' Album Three Weeks Early
Well, this is a surprise.

Well, this is a surprise. Bon Iver releases his fourth studio album i,i three weeks ahead of schedule digitally on Jagjaguwar. Following yesterday’s (Aug. 7) intimate i,i listening events, Bon Iver started to share eight individual new tracks as fans woke up to the unannounced gift of the band’s most expansive, joyful and generous music yet, cascading from Sydney to Warsaw, London to Los Angeles.
The project was recorded mostly at Sonic Ranch in El Paso, Texas and April Base in Eau Claire. The core of the Bon Iver lineup for i,i is: Sean Carey (Drum, Piano, Voice), Andrew Fitzpatrick (Synthesis, Guitar), Michael Lewis (Bass Guitar, Synths, Saxophone), Matt McCaughan (Drum, Synthesis), and Justin Vernon (Guitar, Bass Guitar, Synths, Voice), featuring Rob Moose (Violin, Viola, Octave Viola, Piano, String, All “Worm Crew” Arrangements) and Jenn Wasner (Guitar, Synths, Voice).
The 13-track LP was produced by Chris Messina, Brad Cook, and Justin Vernon. Zach Hanson and Chris Messina engineered i,i with additional engineering coming from Marta Salogni. Greg Calbi mastered i,i at Sterling Sound in Edgewater, New Jersey. The album was executive produced by Andra Chumas. You can peep the full album credits by visiting Bon Iver’s website.
