Bob’s Watches & Sotheby’s Pair Rare Timepieces With Classic Cars in Latest Auction
A match made in heaven.

Bob’s Watches joins forces with Sotheby’s for its annual RM Sotheby’s: Monterey classic car show. This collaborative effort sees the first of its kind with the pairing of highly-collectible (modern and vintage) wristwatches with ultra-rare classic sports cars.
The top matchup sees a Rolex ref. 6538 Big Crown “James Bond” Submariner (estimate $180,000 – $280,000 USD) paired with another Bond favorite, the 1965 Aston Martin DB5. Other beautiful combinations include a 1974 Rolex Daytona Ref. 6263 “Sigma” paired with a 1964 Shelby 289 Cobra, a Patek Philippe Nautilus Ref. 3710/1A Power Reserve with a 1994 McLaren F1 ‘LM-Specification, and a 1960 tropical OMEGA Speedmaster Ref. 2998-1 matched with a 1939 Porsche Type 64, to name but a few.
When asked what the collaboration meant to the Bob’s Watches brand, founder and CEO Paul Altieri responded with: “We are honored to be collaborating with Sotheby’s for this marquee event in Monterey. Watches and cars go together so naturally, and complement each other so perfectly, so I was ecstatic to provide the eighteen watches for the auction. Every lot is more special than the next, and the same goes for the cars!”
Watch collectors and vintage car enthusiasts alike will not want to miss out on the action. All 18 watches are currently up for grabs over at Sotheby’s Watches Online: The Driver’s Collection auction page, where online bidding closes on August 21, 2019.
