adidas Originals Continental 80 Gets Retro Velcro Strap Update
With green and red stripes to boot.

adidas Originals is taking us back to school with its updated Continental 80, adding velcro and a retro-tinged colorway to the minimalist tennis-style sneaker.
The Continental 80 is inspired by adidas’ 1980’s archive, channeling an aesthetic reminiscent of tennis and fitness shoes from the Three Stripes’ heritage years. In this latest iteration, adidas Originals adds even more retro inspiration by eschewing laces in place for velcro straps, and pairs the clean white supple leather upper with a gum outsole.
adidas Originals keeps the Continental 80 without the Three Stripes, and instead gives the silhouette green and red stripes along the mid-panel alongside a series of perforations and an adidas logo window by the eyestay.
A debossed moniker and Trefoil logo is seen on the lateral rear quarter of the midsole, and rounding off the design is adidas branding on the tongue and heel tab in a tonal palette. The velcro-equipped Continental 80 is also available in “Core Black/Maroon/Glow Blue,” which features a contrasting white/gum sole unit.
Pick up both pairs from adidas Originals stores and online for $100 USD worldwide.
