Inside Quavo's Star-Studded Celebrity Charity Basketball Game With Legends
We were there to capture the special day at Mamba Sports Academy.
Last Tuesday (July 17), Quavo‘s HUNCHO Youth Sport Programming and street athleisure brand Legends teamed up at Kobe Bryant’s Mamba Sports Academy for a celebrity fundraising basketball game to support youth basketball around the country. The game was played at Mamba Sports Academy — a 100,000-square-foot sports and fitness facility that holds five basketball courts — in Thousand Oaks, Calif.
The day consisted of two parts. A High School All-American Game that was led by Josh Christopher (West) and Brandon Boston Jr (East) alongside some of the best high school players competing to be one of the top 12 to earn a spot on the HUNCHO World Team and travel to China to compete on behalf of the US against Chinese National teams.
The second half of the day was a celebrity basketball game that was led by Quavo and 2 Chainz, who both served as captains. Celebrities from both the entertainment and sports worlds showed out including Snoop Dogg, Diplo, Machine Gun Kelly, Terrell Owens, Floyd Mayweather Jr., YG, Bone Collector, Tyrann Mathieu and a lot more. Peep the full list of players below.
“Some people can’t get five people to pull up for them, I’m the type of person that can get the whole world to pull up for me, so, I really appreciate it,” Quavo explained to HYPEBEAST while tying up sneakers. “I don’t go big on nobody, I really support everybody that came here.”
