Concepts References J-Lo for Jungle-Themed Versace Chain Reaction Collaboration
Inspired by the star’s 2000s Grammy Awards dress.
Boston-based footwear and apparel boutique Concepts has reworked the Versace Chain Reaction for its upcoming collaboration with the luxury Italian fashion label.
Concepts drew inspiration from Jennifer Lopez’s Versace silk chiffon jungle-themed dress that she wore to the Grammy Awards in 2000. The print influenced Concepts to rework the Chain Reaction in a jungle motif-printed nylon upper with green iridescent TPU tooling, which is contrasted by a “nude” tongue.
The Chain Reaction is offset by the shoe’s signature chainlink-inspired sole unit, which is finished in white. Complementing accents such as a tonal Chain Reaction tongue plaque, green rope laces, a green Medusa head on the rear and tonal Greca motifs throughout round off the sneaker’s distinctive aesthetic.
Concepts will be selling its Versace Chain Reaction collaboration on July 19 for $1075 USD at its Boston an New York outposts, as well as online at 11 AM EST in both men’s and women’s sizes.
