Charli XCX & Christine and the Queens Share Intimate Music Video for "Gone"
From the artist’s upcoming album ‘Charli.’
Last month, Charli XCX revealed plans for her third studio album Charli. Her first full-length release since 2014’s Sucker LP, the project will deliver 15 new tracks, including records with Taylor Swift, Sky Ferreira, Clairo, Troye Sivan and more. Now, further supporting her forthcoming album, the 26-year-old superstar is following up Charli‘s lead single, “Blame It on Your Love” with Lizzo, by sharing its A.G. Cook-produced Christine and The Queens collaboration “Gone.” Notably, the “Gone” single is being released alongside its visual companion, which was put together by director Colin Solal Cardo.
“This song is so so soooooo important to me and I literally can’t stop dancing to it,” Charli XCX shares via an official statement posted to Instagram. “It was created with some of my favourite new and old collaborators and I’m so happy we were able to turn a song about something quite serious (the feeling of isolation and insecurity and anxiety) into something which gives you power and breaks you free. It’s euphoric!”
“I am beyond proud of this song. It feels so true to me and to how I feel,” she added in another post. “People seem to think I’m this consistently confident person – but I’m shy and terrified quite a lot actually. This song really discusses those feelings of fear and anxiety and the frustrations that come in the aftermath of those emotions. I am beyond happy to have collaborated with @christineandthequeens on this song – it’s truly a dream come true!”
