The video is directed by Dejan Jovanovic & Luke Abby.
UPDATE: The video for “XXXTC” was recently released. The visual is directed by Dejan Jovanovic, founder of the multidisciplinary design and production studio DE- YAN, and photographer Luke Abby. “XXXTC” music video is a surrealist stripper fantasy that uses elements of CGI to seamlessly blend everything. SEXORCISM dropped later this year.
ORIGINAL STORY: Last month, Charli XCX announced plans for her next major studio album, Charli, and revealed the itinerary for the LP’s accompanying tour. Now, Brooke Candy is enlisting Charli XCX and Maliibu Miitch for a new collaborative single known as “XXXTC.”
Introduced in support of Brooke Candy’s debut studio album SEXORCISM, “XXXTC” was produced by Oscar Scheller and co-written by Ashnikko. The record serves as Brooke Candy’s third collaboration with Charli XCX, an individual who Candy describes as a “musical savant. A fourth joint effort from the pairing, “Shake It,” will also be available for listening once Charli XCX’s upcoming Charli album reaches its September 13 release date.
“Charli is a pop star that’s also trying to lift up other pop stars and other underground musicians that she sees the talent in,” Brooke Candy tells Billboard. “It’s really f*cking cool. She’s definitely one of the artists of our generation.”
Elsewhere in her statement to Billboard, Brooke Candy opens up about the four-day creative process that birthed “XXXTC.” “We went in knowing that we wanted to make something that felt like a stripper anthem,” Candy explains. “Something that made you feel good and want to dance, but also something that was highly sexual in nature, promotes the divine feminine and speaks to how important women are in helping human sexuality evolve.”
