Designer Ian DeLucca Creates $20,000 USD Diamond-Encrusted AirPods
Only 25 are available to buy.

Los Angeles-based designer Ian Delucca has crafted a set of diamond-encrusted AirPods as a part of his “NEW MATERIALISM” series, which aims to seamlessly fuse the worlds of art and commerce together. As such, Delucca has kicked off his impending works with Apple’s popular headphones in a piece entitled Object No. 1, reimagining the style with various luxe materials.
The AirPods have been cast in white gold and adorned with 1,0000 individual VVS natural, mined diamonds. Each set is inscribed with an edition number and creation date and comes with a marble stand for charging. They are limited to just 25 units and priced at $20,000 USD each.
“’NEW MATERIALISM’ guides us into new relationships with the material world,” Delucca said.
Customers interested in Object No. 1 “AirPods” can contact the artist directly on his Instagram and inquire about purchasing the item prior to its public release.
