'The Peanut Butter Falcon' Channels Mark Twain's Americana Fables

The first trailer for Tyler Nilson and Michael Schwartz full-length film directorial debut, The Peanut Butter Falcon, has arrived. Operating as a modern Mark Twain-styled fable, the forthcoming film starring Shia LaBeouf follows “the story of Zak (Zack Gottsagen), a young man with Down syndrome, who runs away from to pursue his dream of attending professional wrestling school.” After a weird turn of events brings Zak and riff-raff outlaw Tyler (LaBeouf) together, Tyler begins coaching and befriending Zak as they adventure through America’s swamplands.
The film recently won the Audience Award at SXSW Film Festival. The film stars WWE legend Mick Foley, Dakota Johnson, Bruce Dern, John Hawkes, Yelawolf, and more.
