IDK Announces Label Partnership & Drops Split-Screen Visual for "Digital"
The artist will be partnering with Warner Bros. on a new label.
Maryland-raised rapper IDK (Ignorantly Delivering Knowledge) has announced a new label partnership with Warner Records via a new label entitled Clue. The offshoot will house all of the artist’s upcoming releases, including his debut album Is He Real, due later this year. Warner Records Co-chairman and CEO Aaron Bay-Schuck shared that “IDK is at the forefront of this next generation of artists who actually have something to say…his lyrical prowess is unmatched, his ideas and vision are wildly creative, he’s doing things his way.” To celebrate the partnership, IDK has shared a cinematically-aligned visual for his single “Digital.”
The powerful music video for the track, directed by himself, maintains itself as a cautionary tale for young people of color in the United States. IDK here has opted for black and white visuals to depict the story unfolding via split screen — one side depicts the unfolding reality, while the other depicts an outsider’s perspective of the same story.
