Mortal Kombat creator Ed Boon has been teasing this on social media for a while, but the news has been officially confirmed: Mortal Kombat 11 will be getting Shang Tsung as a DLC character. Played by the original actor — Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa — who portrayed him in the live-action film, the soul-stealing sorcerer will be part of a DLC called the Kombat Pack due to release on June 18. As part of the announcement, the The NetherRealm also released a gameplay video showcasing the shapeshifter’s moves, including his fatality. You can check out the video above.

Aside from reintroducing Shang Tsung, the video also announces a roster of additional characters. Nightwolf and Sindel will both be joining the latest Mortal Kombat game, both of whom first joined the universe in Mortal Kombat 3. Todd McFarlane‘s Spawn will also be coming to the game, his first appearance ever for the franchise. The trailer teases two additional guest characters as well, though they remain unrevealed for now.

The Mortal Kombat 11 Kombat Pack will be available for PC, PS4 and Xbox One on June 18 and will set you back $39.99 USD. Aside from the six new characters, it’ll also include 19 additional skins, including Klassic Skins for Scorpion, Noob-Saibot, and Sub-Zero. Unfortunately, there’s no news yet on when it’ll hit the Nintendo Switch.

And elsewhere in gaming, the release date for NBA 2K20 has been leaked on Twitter.
