Paramount & Blumhouse Developing 'Paranormal Activity 7'
Many speculate it’ll be a soft reboot like ‘Halloween (2018).’

Paramount Pictures and Blumhouse Productions are reviving the Paranormal Activity franchise with the seventh installment of the found-footage film series. According to reports from The Wrap, the announcement of a new film was made at CineEurope with producer Jason Blum returning to the franchise.
Following Blum’s newfound low-budget, box office success rate with films like Insidious, The Purge, and Get Out, many speculate he will revive the franchise similar to what he did with Halloween (2018). Several films into the franchise, Halloween (2018) ignored all sequels and took place after the original film.
The original Paranormal Activity revived the found-footage genre of horror films with a $193 million USD worldwide box office on a budget of $15,000. It has since spawned a six-movie saga covering all paranormal sub-subjects, such as cultism, demonic possessions, and witchcraft.
In other horror-related news, Chris Rock is rebooting the Saw franchise.
