CURLY SS20 Is Rich With Lavish Color and Texture
Premium Japanese craftsmanship informs the easygoing layers.

Japan’s CURLY has quietly turned out premium menswear staples over the past decade, eventually expanding the label’s reach beyond its native Japan to limited Western stockists. As it continues to push every Westward, CURLY continues to develop striking dyes and peerless construction for its effortless tees and slacks, as demonstrated by the brand’s Spring/Summer 2020 offering.
Though the collection doesn’t highlight the recent Lafeet collaboration, it does showcase the recently revived Nike Air Rift, complementing the trim pants and lush dyes that elevate the bright hues explored for Fall/Winter 2019. Splotchy shirts are cut with cropped lengths to encourage clever layering, while lightweight anoraks sport easily-adjustable elastic sleeves and cardigans boast flexible hems. CURLY’s signature patchwork pattern adds visual intrigue to various layering pieces, an appropriate accompaniment to the unfettered, tailored trousers.
Expect the new collection to hit CURLY’s Japanese headstore plus stockists like Lot 333 early next year.
Elsewhere in Japan, KAPITAL introduced more playful looks as part of Fall/Winter 2019.
