Nike's Air Barrage Mid Makes Its Comeback in "Raptors" Colorway
24 years after its original release.
Beaverton is bringing back its Air Barrage Mid silhouette for the first time since its original debut more than 20 years ago in 1995. For its return, Nike’s dressing the throwback sneaker in the Toronto Raptors‘ colors.
Featuring white leather up front and purple mesh forming the midfoot and rear, the sneaker is heavily covered in black suede overlays. Red highlights find their way onto the shoe via the “AIR” logo running along the chunky sole, the Swoosh logo by the laces, and accented laceloops running up the white leather anterior. Branding comes in the form of white Swooshes and Nike logos scattered across the sneaker, including the logos on the tongue and the purple/red/black heel strap round the back. The whole look is tied together with a thick branded midfoot strap, enhancing the retro silhouette’s unconventional construction while giving better midfoot support.
The Nike Air Barrage Mid “Raptors” is now available overseas on Culture Kings for $210 AUD, or alternatively will be released soon Stateside on Nike’s online store.
