Netflix has revealed the official trailer for its upcoming documentary entitled Rolling Thunder Revue: A Bob Dylan Story by Martin Scorsese, an in-depth look at Dylan’s career-solidifying tour as an artist. The new effort by the famed filmmaker “captures the troubled spirit of America in 1975 and the joyous music that Dylan performed during the fall of that year.” The tour, which ran from October of 1975 to May of 1976, was a unique departure for Dylan in that he decided to play a numerous amount of shows in smaller venues in order to cater to a more intimate live experience. Throughout the process, Dylan had brought along numerous musicians and collaborators throughout the 57-leg tour.

The latest documentary effort from Martin Scorsese seeks to relive and further digest Dylan’s immense undertaking, utilizing a variety of old footage and sound recordings that were heavily documented during the tour. This footage is further intercut with various narration, as well as interviews with Dylan himself and others, helping to digest the journey of artistic reinvention that Dylan had embarked upon.

The release of the documentary on June 12 will also coincide with a vinyl repress of The Bootleg Series Vol. 5: Bob Dylan Live 1975, The Rolling Thunder Revue, the last time being in 2003, and will release just days before the documentary on June 8.

For more related news, Jai Paul recently released a double-sided single.
