Mexcco Has a Lot to Get off His Chest on "99 Problems"
“When I make music I just go off how I feel in the moment.”
A couple months after the release of the visual for his GoGetta KB collaboration “Crippin,” talented West Coast up-and-comer Mexcco is debuting a new music video for his latest major solo single, “99 Problems.” Produced by KALi, “99 Problems” is brought to life as a video by director Angelo Deprater, and the record is being used to help promote and tease Mexcco’s debut studio album In The Trap.
“‘99 Problems’ was inspired by all my personal problems that I’ve been going through. Issues with my family, probation, going to jail, etc. It’s also a tribute to my friend who is currently doing fed time,” Mexcco tells us, explaining the narrative behind his latest release. “In this song I reflect on being in the streets, getting kicced out of my home, and trying to find my way. When I make music I just go off how I feel in the moment. The producer KALi played the beat for me and I literally went in the booth and freestyled the whole record. I just had a lot I needed to get off my chest at the time and at the end we knew we had a hit on our hands. Keep a look out for my debut album In The Trap dropping this summer.”
