Givenchy's SS20 Pre-Collection Borrows From the Biker World
Clare Waight Keller draws her latest inspiration from a travel-filled lifestyle.

As Givenchy readies its first standalone men’s show set for Pitti Uomo next week, the French label has unveiled an in-depth look at its impending Pre-Spring 2020 collection. House artistic director Clare Waight Keller imagined the jet-setting lifestyle of the Givenchy man for the latest assortment, taking references from the motor world to dream up biker-inspired looks.
The range encompasses classic items such as double-breasted jackets and tailored pants alongside contemporary pieces like voluminous denim bottoms and reflective jackets, which are featured in high-quality materials such as wool, cashmere and linen. Neutral colors offer a streamlined palette throughout, while distinct pops of cerulean blue, emerald green, burnt red and “cheetah camouflage” prints pack a bolder punch on cropped jackets, joggers and graphics. A mix of formal blazers and tuxedo trousers, as well as the brand’s signature Givenchy Downtown accessories, round it all out.
The SS20 Pre-Collection is expected to start arriving in Givenchy stores in July, with drops continuing to roll out through September.
In other news for the brand, the company recently announced that Ariana Grande will be the new face for the French house.
