BAPE Drops New 'Ghostbusters' Capsule to Celebrate the Film's 35th Anniversary

In the summer of 2009, revered streatwear giant BAPE teamed up with Ghostbusters on a collection that put every fan of the movie over the moon. Placing some of the film’s iconography front and center, the likes of Slimer, the Ghostbusters logo and the Ecto-1 were emblazoned on T-shirts, long-sleeved shirts and mugs. The capsule even featured a lineup of BAPESTAs.

Now 10 years later, the giant is once again releasing a new joint collection that will be sure to sell out. The new capsule includes a range of graphic black and white tees decorated with a combination of the Ghostbusters logo, Baby Milo and his friends, the Ecto-1, Slimer, BAPE’s iconic 1ST CAMO, and a special “35” motif designed like slime. On top of that, a khaki jacket inspired by the jumpsuits worn by Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd and likes has also been included.

In terms of footwear two pairs of BAPESTAs will be up for grabs, one dressed in a predominately red upper while white covers the midsole, laces and STA motif. The second pair is mostly all white with a contrasting red STA motif. Both are then embellished with Ghostbuster branding and a decal of Baby Milo. Additionally, this time around the accessories include a keychain and large sticker.

Pricing for the items is as follows: ¥29,800 JPY (approx. $275 USD) for the jacket; ¥20,000 JPY (approx. $184 USD) for the BAPESTAs; ¥7,800 JPY (approx. $72 USD) for the adult tees; ¥5,400 JPY (approx. $50 USD) for the kid’s tees; ¥2,400 JPY (approx. $22 USD) for the sticker; ¥1,800 JPY (approx. $17 USD) for the keychain.

Part of the Ghostbusters x BAPE 35th Anniversary capsule will be pre-released this Saturday, June 8 exclusively at BAPE’s Los Angeles outpost. The full collection will then hit global BAPE retailers and bape.com Saturday, June 29.
