It’s sad, but I usually spend Father’s Day working. It always overlaps with Cannes Lions, which is a big creativity festival in the South of France. That said, deejaying on a private yacht drinking hella rosé isn’t a bad way to spend the holiday. I just wish Myles could be there with me. Maybe next year.
What is a cool item that you wouldn’t mind receiving for Father’s Day?
I feel like everyone is going to say some sneakers or gear…which is fine. I want all that, too. But I’ve been doing a big redecoration of my house and have really gotten into plants and furniture. I’m in love with this Hans Wegner Shell Chair. Myles would claim it as his, though — which I’m totally fine with. The world’s best chair to watch Paw Patrol in.

Being woken up via tackle in bed by my two daughters, Lennox and Locke, last year was about as good as life gets.

If my almost 2 year-old, Locke, decided to, say, gift me with her final dirty diaper (AKA the last diaper I’ll change in this lifetime) that would be extremely fire. Besides that, I’m pretty good on things.

How do you plan to celebrate Father’s Day this year?
This Father’s Day I’ll be alone, traveling for work. I travel so much these days, so I’ll definitely FaceTime my kids. Now, as I’m writing this, I may just fly up to be with them on Sunday before I leave the next day to Paris.

How do you plan to celebrate Father’s Day this year?
I may be headed back to California but we will do something fun. I feel like Father’s Day has a bad stigma on it which I’d like to address. I personally think there’s no reason in the new millennium that fathers should be relegated to sucky ass gifts [laughs]. Around Friday or Saturday, I’m gonna do something for myself. I suggest every proactive father do the same thing. Don’t cheat yourself treat yourself.
What is a cool item that you wouldn’t mind receiving for Father’s Day?
He’ll probably end up getting me a backpack. He knows I need something nice to put my computer in so maybe a Louis backpack.

How do you plan to celebrate Father’s Day this year?
I’d like everyone to leave me alone so I can have an uninterrupted day with my boys, wife and our family of friends. There is a high likelihood that we do our normal thing, a restaurant buyout or private space at Cecconi’s Dumbo, Pinch or maybe even something epically corny-cool like Benihana.
What is the best Father’s Day gift or moment that you’ve ever had?
After losing my Dad almost seven years ago, the holiday has always been bitter sweet. So some of my most cherished objects are items that were left to me or things that help me to celebrate his life. In my office I have a framed trio of my Dad’s bowties, a reminder for me to focus on the details, dress well and commit to my craft that provides opportunity for everyone that I love.
What is a cool item that you wouldn’t mind receiving for Father’s Day?
I certainly don’t need any more “stuff.” As a man who has gone 43 years with no “ink” (I am 100% tattoo-less), it’s about time that I enter the tatted-club. I’d like to have a few pieces that incorporate my dad and my two boys. I heard the tattoos can get pricey, so hopefully THE WIFE can pick up that tab.

I get my best gift every year. Simply being able to look into my daughter and son’s eyes, and know they love me.

This may not be a popular answer but, “things” don’t matter to me. I’ve had a bunch of cars, watches, clothes and gadgets. My kids are older, 25 and 20, and we’re living in a very “I’m busy” world. With that said, all I need is the time spent with my family. I find some of the best joy, in hearing them talk…about nothing! There is nothing more important to me than to see them flourish.
