BlocBoy JB Drops Latest Trap-Laced Album 'I Am Me'
With features from Lil Durk and Moneybagg Yo.
Seen back in January in “Yoppa” with Lil Mosey, BlocBoy JB shows no signs of slowing down, even with his abrupt arrest last month, returning with his latest mixtape titled I Am Me.
The Memphis rapper has dropped a 13-track album laced with hard-hitting beats and rich lyricism. Features include such names as Lil Durk and fellow Tennessee native Moneybagg Yo, while previously previewed tracks like “Mercedes” and “House Party” have made it on the track list as well. Trap-infused beats riff on the sounds of eerie piano chords, hefty 808s and sharp hi-hats, driving the tempo of most of the songs. BlocBoy JB shows versatility in his flow, too, taking on auto-tuned vocals on “Sixteen” and “Let Me Know.” The album measures at approximately 30 minutes and marks the fifth album under the rapper’s belt.
